UV Protection

SKIN DAMAGE IS SCARY
While untinted glass blocks most of the sun’s ultraviolet B (UVB) rays, they allow much of its ultraviolet A (UVA) rays to pass right through. UVA penetrates deep into the skin, causing DNA damage that can accelerate skin aging and lead to skin cancer.
SKIN DAMAGE FROM THE SUN IS CUMULATIVE
UVA rays damage your skin gradually, but incessantly. Over the course of time this damage becomes visible in the form of spots, wrinkles, thickening and sagging skin. The only cure is to prevent this damage from happening in the first place.
DRIVING IS WHEN YOU ARE MOST AT RISK
"The single best safeguard against UV damage is window film, sometimes referred to as window tint, which has been specially treated to screen out both UVA and UVB rays."
- The Skin Cancer Foundation (www.skincancer.org)
"FACTORY TINT" DOESN'T PROTECT YOU
"Factory tint" actually isn't tint at all. It is "Privacy Glass" that is created by an electrical process that involves dying the inside of the glass with a dark pigment. It does not provide the same UV protection or heat reduction qualities as window film. Many people choose to apply a lighter shade of window film to their factory privacy glass in order to gain these benefits without darkening the windows too much.
